Determining the right dumpster for your project depends on how much waste you have to get rid of. Dumpsters sizes are measured in cubic yards. For example, below you will see a chart that includes sizing for 10 to 40 yard dumpsters. Each one has an illustration of how many pickup truck loads it would hold. SteelSmith has dumpsters to accommodate all of your cleanup, yard debris, or commercial waste project needs.
Please use the dumpster size chart below to compare sizes, and then give SteelSmith a call to schedule your dumpster delivery.
We have a large inventory of different sized dumpsters ranging from 10 to 40 cubic yards. Below are the different sizes and approximately how many pickup loads each size can hold. You can use this chart as a guide to help you choose the right sized dumpster rental for your project. Learn more about roll-off dumpsters.

The exterior of our dumpsters are the same length and width. However, the thing that makes each bin capable of holding more waste is the height of the container. The height significantly increases the volume it will hold. To calculate the size of a dumpster, multiply the length x width x height. This will give you the volume in cubic feet. Then divide that number by 27 to convert cubic feet to yards.
Use the illustrations above to help you visualize how many cubic yards will fit into a dumpster. Each pickup truck load is just shy of 2 cubic yards.
